How Russia Has Influenced the World

By on June 5, 2018 in Kamexplore

Russia has some of the most diverse ethnic and religious groups in the world. The history of the country starts more than 1000 years ago and ever since it managed to maintain itself as one of the main actors on the international stage. It has been advanced in so many various aspects and has been a leader in the world scene. There are countless ways in which Russia influenced the surrounding countries and the world. The long history of this country proved its amazing capacity to be flexible and to resist even the harshest conditions. We have listed some of the ways in which Russia influenced the world to better understand the world around us and the global history.

Early Influence

In the Middle Ages Russia was composed of smaller kingdoms that eventually united to form the largest country in the world. The major influence during this period was the spread of Orthodox Christianity to all the surrounding country. The second aspect is the language. Even today we have many countries surrounding Russia that speak this language or a mixed dialect. This was the major influence during these ages.

Later, the Russian art started to be one of the main voices in Europe. The artists here were sometimes funded by the state to produce masterpieces that would represent the power and ambition of the Russian people. This is also the moment when the true Russian identity was born.

20th Century

At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1917 to be more specific, Russia was going through a revolution. The civil revolution that ended with the death of the whole imperial Romanov family was the sign of the end of an era for all the royal families in the world. This tragedy determined all the royal families to be more careful with the citizens.

After the fall of the royal family a new regime was being born: the communism. This regime and mentality stayed in Russia and in many of the surrounding countries for more than 60 years. This is also the moment when the USSR was born. The confederation had all the Eastern European countries and many countries that had border with Russia in Asia. This regime spread very fast and it led to violent revolutions in many countries to have it established.

During WWII Russia was one of the strongest countries that had a massive impact on the outcome of the war. Many historians believe that without the Russian intervention the outcome of the war would have been very different. Russia also annexed many small countries after the war and had influence over half of Europe.

The communist dream ended in Russia too with the help of the president Gorbaciov. He decided that people should be able to have the political system that they want, and this led to bloody revolutions in all the USSR countries. After this, Russia managed to reestablish its position as one of the key leaders of the world and now is one of the strongest countries in the world.
